Our Story

The Collective Kitchen was created in 2012 by Chef John Ferris, who has been passionate about food since he was a young man. He has had the privilege to live in the bountiful Sea to Sky area for the past 15 years, where his passion and commitment for bringing natural ingredients together with sound techniques shows itself on every plate. We work collaboratively with local and regional farmers, artisans and purveyors.  We respect their work and aim to serve the best that BC has to offer. We are professional chefs who will help you design a custom menu that fits the needs of your special event. You can expect the same attention to detail and craft that you would find in the finest restaurants on the west coast.

The Pemberton Valley has had centuries of glacial history creating ideal conditions for growing a wide variety of produce. Pemberton and Area supports fruit, vegetable and beef farming but is best known for it’s ‘Seed Potato’ production which reaches markets in the lower mainland and in the States. Organic farming practices are wildly being adopted while crop diversity has expanded with the development of cranberries, hemp, hazelnut and garlic operations.

The “Collective” includes all the local producers that are sourced to make your meal phenomenal.
